Stop watching TV and eating junk food.

Become an active participant in your own life.

Start the diet and exercise programme you’ve been planning for years. Nothing too drastic. Everything should be done in moderation.  We can’t all be marathon runners or Olympic athletes.

Start eating better quality food. You don’t have to eat less, just better quality i.e. more fruit and vegetables and listen to your body. If you’re not hungry then don’t eat. If you are hungry then eat. There is no need to go hungry but you are less likely to be hungry if you eat high quality food because hunger is the body’s way of telling you that it needs more nutrients.

The pleasure you feel when people begin to notice and your clothes become too big will far out weigh the momentary pleasure experienced when eating yet another pizza. You don’t have to give up your favourite food but regard it as a treat and indulge occasionally. You will look forward to it and enjoy it much more.  Everything in moderation.

Everybody can go for a walk. I don’t accept otherwise. Go at your own pace and keep going for as long as you feel comfortable. Maybe you can only manage five minutes. Try to increase the pace you walk at and the distance you walk gradually. Don’t go mad. Everything in moderation. You will gradually increase your fitness and it will help you lose weight. You will become much healthier, you will sleep better and many of your aches pains etc will disappear. You will also enjoy it especially if you go for a walk on the countryside or in the sea air.
