Education Education Education

“Education is wasted on the young.” So very true.

If you are still young and lucky enough to have them opportunity to be involved in education (full or part time) enjoy it while you can.

School and College days really are the best days of your life.

I don’t really expect young people to take advice from somebody my age but I guarantee that you will come around to my point of view in time.

Savour your education while you can.  It is far better than digging the road, working in a factory or working in a shop.

Grasp the opportunity that it brings.  A person with qualifications will have far more choices in life than somebody with none.  It is far, far easier to gain these qualifications when you are young

However,  if full time education is a dream (or a distant memory) all is not lost.

Start reading books. It is a very cheap activity (if not free) and much more enjoyable than watching TV.

My favourite book is ” Lost Horizon by James Hilton but there are many thousands of good books at you local library just waiting to be read.

I envy anybody who hasn’t read “Pride and Prejudice” or “Treasure Island” You have a treat in store.

Surely, everybody likes “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”

What about “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time?”

For the more intellectual types, I recommend “Birdsong”

You will really enjoy yourself.
